- A rapidly spreading rash with fever, blistering or peeling skin, mouth/eye involvement, spreading redness with pus or severe pain (possible serious infection), or any skin change that is rapidly worsening.→ Seek prompt medical/emergency evaluation.
Classical understanding
- Classically grouped under kuṣṭha involving disturbance of the doṣas together with rasa, rakta, māṁsa and lasīkā; diet and conduct are emphasised.
General self-care (safe for most)
- Gentle skin care, avoid known triggers and harsh products, keep cool for heat-aggravated skin, and eat a light, non-greasy diet; manage stress. General measures only.
Skin conditions need individual diagnosis by a Vaidya or dermatologist; certain therapies (e.g. Raktamokshana) are clinic-only.
