🚑 Seek urgent care if:
- Blood in the stool, black tarry stools, unintentional weight loss, a persistent change in bowel habit, fever, or night-time diarrhoea waking you from sleep.→ See a doctor promptly — these need medical assessment.
Classical understanding
- Grahaṇī roga is described as impaired agni at the grahaṇī (small-intestinal seat of digestion), giving alternating loose and formed stools, bloating and discomfort, often worsened by irregular meals and stress.
General self-care (safe for most)
- Eat regular, unhurried meals of warm easy-to-digest food, avoid known trigger foods, keep hydrated, and manage stress — the gut and mind are closely linked here.
Persistent bowel symptoms need a doctor to exclude other causes; Ayurvedic measures here are supportive and educational only.
